A POPULAR outdoor drinking experience is set to make its return to Maldon’s open spaces again this week.

The Grape and Grain outdoor event will start up again today in Promenade Park.

The open-air project supports producers and businesses, and allows visitors to the district to sample some of the best beer and wine in the area.

Events organiser Eleanor Taylor has teamed up with celebrity mixologist Dustin MacMillan to provide the al fresco experience, which will include businesses such as as Mighty Oak Brewing Company, Wilkin and Sons, and New Hall Vineyards.

Eleanor said: “The producers are very pleased to have been given an additional opportunity in which to sell their locally produced ‘grape and grain’ and they have been extremely supportive.

“We are also pleased producer Tiptree is on board and will be selling their gins.

“In addition, we will be selling a Maldon Pimms, using fruit from the greengrocers at the Emporium to further support the High Street.”

The Covid-secure Grape and Grain event will run from Thursday to Sunday each week from 12noon to 10pm.
