Bustos Next Generation Fuels Act a top corn priority
A National Corn Growers Association board member says the Next Generation Fuels Act is a top priority for corn farmers and will be reintroduced in Congress this session.
Gary Porter with Missouri Corn Growers Association talked about the bill at the recent Missouri Corn annual business meeting, “We’re going to try to get that bill passed so it’ll be higher octane and lower carbon. We think that’s going something that’s going to put more ethanol in the tank and it’s going to support the corn farmers all over the United States.”
Gary Marshall, the outgoing CEO of Missouri Corn Growers, says some modifications are being made to the bill introduced last year by Congresswoman Cheri Bustos of Illinois, “They’re modifying it and I think we’re going to see maybe some of the auto groups come on board. Then, ultimately, we’re going to have to sit down with the environmental organizations.”
Marshall says the Bustos bill is a major priority of the Missouri Corn Growers.
