February 22nd – Woodbridge, CA….. The California Chapter of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers (ASFMRA) in cooperation with the USDA-NASS will present a webinar on March 18th from 2 to 4 p.m. focusing on the Grape Crush Report, a key publication for industry professionals that provides a reliable, timely and accurate snapshot of the grape market. The report contains highly valued information that is often used as the basis for grape contracts and crop insurance payouts along with income analysis by appraisers, investors and loan underwriters.
The webinar will include an overview and history of the Grape Crush Report which is produced annually by the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. Reporting requirements will be discussed as well as grape price district boundaries, grape pricing calculations and how tonnages and grape sales are used in reporting information. Contracted grape pricing vs quality adjusted pricing will be addressed as well as the various types of grape sales. Attendees will learn how to interpret the publication both from a historical perspective and through the analysis of most recent data. Pricing trends along with a detailed look at crop size, the impact from smoke taint and significant changes in grape prices in 2020 will also be covered. “We are excited to be working with USDA in the development of this webinar that will explore the Grape Crush Report in detail,” said webinar organizer, Todd Combs, ARA. “We see this as being a great education tool for the industry.”
The Grape Crush Report Webinar, sponsored by American AgCredit, is open to the public and will be delivered via Zoom. Discounted registration pricing is available for members of ASFMRA, AI and ASA. The cost is $49 for members and $69 for non-members through February 28th and $59 and $79 respectively between March 1 and March 18.
