"Good prospects for grape season" - FreshPlaza.com

The Dutch import company Komatha Impex expects the first arrival of Indian grapes soon. "They are ready to be shipped," says Rob Bornstein. According to the importer, the rain mainly affected the early harvest. "The effect will last until approximately week 7 and is therefore no longer noticeable. This is in contrast to, for example, Chile, where almost the entire harvest has been destroyed by the heavy rainfall."

"We have over 10 years of experience in exporting quality grapes from India. As part of an international trading group with a long tradition, we bring Indian fruit to international markets. Komatha's focus is on Europe and we only work with growers who are familiar with the MRL standards that apply in Europe," says Rob.

The grapes are packed in a modern packing station in Mohadi (Nashik). The total processing capacity of the packing station is more than 200 containers. "This year the harvest is about two thirds of last year because prices are unstable. But the prospects for Indian grapes are good. Chile has a lot less grapes and the South African season is currently considerably behind compared to previous years."

Komatha Impex has the following varieties in its range: Thompson, Ganesh (white seedless), Sharad, Jumbo (black seedless), Flame, Crimson, Fantasy (red seedless) and Sonaka (elongated). The size of the grape is 16 mm plus for the white seedless grapes and 17 mm plus for the purple seedless grapes. The grapes have a brix of 16.
