YouTuber NileRed figured out that some vinyl gloves contain phthalate ester, a compound similar to methyl anthranilate, the molecule used in many grape-flavored products. So he set about extracting the chemical from the gloves, altering its stucture, and making some soda with his creation. And he said it "tastes better than diet soda." That is a low bar, indeed.
