Soybeans up, corn down from a year ago - Echo Press

Minnesota farmers got paid more than a year ago for their soybeans, but not as well for corn, the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service announced Monday. Milk and wheat prices were also up, while hay was down.

The average price in October for soybeans was $9.48 a bushel, up 46 cents from the September price and up $1.15 from the October 2019 price.

Corn fell 27 cents to $3.36 per bushel in October from the previous year, although it was higher by 39 cents from September.

Spring wheat rose to $4.96 per bushel, up by 33 cents from October 2019 and up 39 cents from September.

Minnesota hay prices averaged $112 per ton in October, up $3 from the September price but down $28 from October 2019.

Dairy farmers continued to put the hard years of the past decade behind them as the October average price for milk came in at $23.30 per hundredweight, up $4.50 from September and up $1.60 from October 2019.
