92% of U.S. soybeans, 91% of corn harvested

The end is in sight for the 2020 U.S. corn and soybean harvests after generally solid progress last week. Weather this week is expected to vary, including a return to colder temperatures in parts of the Midwest and Plains, but some areas should be able to wrap up soon.

The USDA says 91% of the U.S. corn crop is harvested, compared to the five-year average of 80%, and 92% of soybeans are harvested, compared to 90% on average.

93% of winter wheat is planted, compared to 91% on average, and 79% has emerged, compared to the usual rate of 78%, with 45% of the crop rated good to excellent, up 2% from last week, but down 9% from last year.

90% of sorghum is harvested, compared to 80% on average.

61% of cotton is harvested, compared to 57% typically this time of year.

56% of U.S. topsoil and 53% of subsoil have adequate to surplus moisture levels.
