NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - A pandemic did not stop the Old Fashioned Corn Feed from being successful at the Lincoln County Historical Museum on Saturday. Director and Curator of the Lincoln County Historical Museum Jim Griffin said the annual feed usually draws over 300 people. This year, he said was just as successful as years’ past.
And Griffin is grateful.
One of the new exhibits coming is an exhibit from the Smithsonian. It is a display on the 19th Amendment and the Suffrage Movement, and it will be available the month of September.
And the crowd stood in groups with their families, many wearing masks, and all sitting at picnic tables spread out across the property. The museum was open and people all had big smiles on their faces, albeit hidden by masks and corn-on-the-cob.
Pulled pork sandwiches, beans and watermelon were on the menu too. Griffin and the Lincoln County Historical Museum Board Members cooked and served the food.
The museum is open daily.
