Tomatoes make up the base for most meals. Ok, they're in basically everything. Whether that's Tomato Pastas, Tomato Salads, or even Tomato Chocolate Cake (yes, really), they're pretty much a staple cooking ingredient.
But let's be honest, peeling a tomato can be an absolute pain. Maybe not as bad as de-seeding a pomegranate, but still pretty annoying and unnecessarily time consuming.
But thanks to TikTok food hack genius, @JaxFoodHax, we now know how to peel tomatoes in just five minutes. Yes, five minutes.
In her video, @JaxFoodHax provides fans with a step-by-step guide on how remove the skin on tomatoes "nice and quick", promising little mess and no watery tomatoes.

She explains that the first thing you have to do is slice your tomatoes in half. After this, drizzle some olive oil into a pan and place on a medium heat. Once the oil has warmed up, pack the tomato halves into the pan face down and pop the lid on. Leave for five minutes. Return to the pan after five minutes and simply pinch the top of the tomatoes and watch the tomato skin effortlessly fall off.
We're obsessed with how easy this is. Not to mention, it's incredibly satisfying to watch.
